I’d say it’s not so much “religious excess” as it is that the religious leaders lack wisdom, have no understanding and should never occupy the places they do (except God, in wisdom, has allowed impostors to remain for our own observation and benefit) and as a result the living fire of the soul will eventually surface and reject their abuse, violently, if necessary. In the practice of wisdom, there is no such thing as “excess” and the anger and fire of Rock music is encompassed within.
